I was talking on the phone to one of my best friend, railing on and on about some sort of injustice. She abruptly interrupted me with this question. “Are you a feminist?” I quickly answered “No of course not.” I believe in equality for all people in spite of personal preferences. I believe in a woman’s rights to choose what’s best for her (career, motherhood or both, chivalry or going Dutch etc etc) and yes, I’ve taken a number of college courses and read a bunch of “Feminist writings” (Audre Lourde, Betty Freidan and more) but as a heterosexual. Christian, Black Woman, I don’t feel like a feminist. Read the rest of this entry ?
Word around the “intranets” is that a 12 year old in Bloomington IL, was arrested for throwing a rock at Soulja Boy’s tour bus. When asked why he did it he simply replied “I hate Soulja Boy.” Read the rest of this entry ?
Pat Buchanan felt the need to mouth-off and post a rebuttal on Obama’s speech about race. I am sickened by some of the garbage this man has to say… like this little jewel of racial harmony:
First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known.
Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.
I read this in my local daily paper (TBT), and I thought it was an excellent piece. It originally ran in the LA Times, But I found it online on the Baltimore Sun Newpaper website. Here it is

I’m mad. Let me qualify that - I’m black and mad.
The mad I’m talking about I inherited from generations of black people before me. I learned early in life that this mad is not curable (not yet) but that I could manage it. But sometimes I get flare-ups of anger that defy management. Read the rest of this entry ?
Here it is! “Hunger Strike” The banned episode of The Boondocks! It aired this week on Teletoon, Canada’s version of the Cartoon Network. This is the Episode that Viacom does not want us to see, there is so much truth to it. Cee-Lo of Gnarls Barkely is Rev. Rollo Goodlove
From the “oh Really?” files, Ray-J is calling out Chris Stokes and Marques Houston ( and by out I mean OUT!) in and interview with Ballerstatus, a hip hop website. Brandy’s little Bro had this to say… Read the rest of this entry ?
The Lopez- Anthony twins are making their little debut on the Cover of People Magazine and sources say that getting them on the cover was no easy feat thanks to their demanding Mama. “Jenny from the Block” is refusing to allow the magazine to call her “J. Lo” and demanding that her husband Marc Anthony photos be used. (Marc is a budding photog). Oh Jennifer Lopez being all kinds of extra!
Here in Tampa, a black couple is angry with their daughter’s elementary school because she found two books that contained the “N-word”. Read the rest of this entry ?

Well I sing, often and I've been told I do it well, I love God, Family, friends (I love ya'll) and stillettos, quirky people, black history and MAC makeup, church, B.Scott youtube clips, great men, carnival food, babies, good weave and good drinks.
