Free at Last, Free at Last. Foxy Brown is free at last

April 18, 2008

Brown, 29, left the Rose M. Singer facility at Rikers Island Correctional facility in New York at 12:05 p.m., and was greeted by a swarm of photographers and fans as she exited a white Rolls Royce Phantom on the Queens side of the Rikers Island bridge.

People

Foxy says she wanted her first stop to be church. Of couse she got her shopping too.
Later Friday Brown was spotted buying a pocketbook and two pairs of shoes at a store called Signature in Harlem near the Apollo Theater, where she was again mobbed by fans and photographers.

Inga Merchand is free! Foxy Brown got out of Rikers today after 8 months in the slammer for violating her probation. TMZ.com is on “Ill na na” watch which is apparently taking longer than anticipated…

On another note, TMZ is actually pointing out Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Ritchie literally did a few hours in jail for similar offenses (violating probation, have auto trouble. Etc) and asking if black celebrities get screwed over by the legal system. So is it true? Do black celebrity offenders get more jail time than non-blacks criminals??

-Amendment- we all know that Celebs get less jail time than normal people so that’s a moot point.

Yes I know that Nicole Ritchie is part black but she doesn’t look like it so she’s still included in this story.

And yes R. Kelly is a notable exception to this question…

p.s- Ya’ll know this means that Foxy and Lil’ Kim have more jail time than A-Con! LOL. I’m still mad at that…

  1. Of course they are screwed by the legal system. *Sings* Over and over it again, and it hurts so bad. HA!

As far as Nicole Ritchie goes, yes she is mixed but she has immersed herself in white culture and she has done what many people feel is necessary. So she is rewarded for her conformity.
