Two quarters is mad at Alicia Keys for her comment in Blender Magazine. Curtis had this to say about Alicia Keys and her thoughts on gansta rap.
What did you think of Alicia Keys’ comments regarding gangsta rap in Blender?
50 cent: I don’t like Alicia Keys no more.
She clarified the comments, though.
50 cent: If she thinks what they consider [to be] gangsta music is [made] to bring black people down then I think my sh*t falls into that category. I don’t like people who don’t like me. I don’t like her then because that’s what provides the life for me. I think if you ask Ice Cube the same shit, he’ll tell you, “F*ck Alicia Keys” for even saying that. Because the success he’s had as an actor and a businessman, there was no opportunity for that sh*t without N.W.A. But I don’t think that [her] classical sh*t is cool. I don’t give a f*ck if you can classically play the piano. I haven’t been classically trained, because my upbringing, nobody put me in front of a piano at that time. If they did, I would know how to do it as well as she does. I could learn how to play the piano if I was passionate about it right now. That’s obviously my perspective evaluating what she does, and I could f*ck*ng care less about the sh*t. So she don’t like the music that embodies the harsh realities because they’re not her realities. She hasn’t been subjected to the same things.

Dear half a dollar,
You have a plethora of misdirected anger. It seems to me that you blindly love and trust white male power (i.e.- Bush is a “G”) while continuing to throw salty anger towards black women. Once again I site this as misdirected anger and I pity you.
Now Alicia never said she didn’t like music that tells the truth, but let’s be real a number of rappers aren’t telling the “truth” of harsh realities but are regurgitating the black gangsta stereotypes that are too widely accepted in our community (i.e. Akon the Con).

I agree. You bring black people down, your music is not the only thing that does it, it’s just you. You are constantly in the news for whining and moaning about something that someone said about you like a little punk! Eww like grow up 50, not everyone is going to like you or your music and you need to be a man and let that mess roll off. Quit being so freaking sensitive!

His statements just perpetuate my dislike for him. I really can’t stand 50 Cent and he only makes it worse everytime he opens his mouth.
And another thing, why does he feel he deserves to be in a category with people like Tupac, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, etc. He is WIGGITY, WIGGITY, WACK!
And if Alicia came out and clarified herself, then he should take what she says at face value. Not everyone is going to support him or like the music he makes and he needs to respect and acceopt that but he doesn’t have to be an A-hole about it.
And ANOTHER thing, 50 Cent…stop speaking for other artists. You don’t KNOW what THEY would say because you aren’t THEM.
…Is it just me or does it seem like he is always trying to compete with someone or make other peoples talents seem trivial. He has a that “Anything you can do, I can do better” mentality. Pride cometh before a fall. He has some deep, personal issues he needs to work through. His inferiorty complex is major.

He also doesn’t realize the difference between speaking about the realities of violence in the hood and glorifying it. There’s a major difference.
My boy Juan over at Highbrid Nation put me onto 50 Cent’s new beef with Alicia Keys. If you ask me he’s taking something very personally that was not directed at him at all. She even made an effort to clean it up and say she was talking the media in her comments. At this point I’m surprised 50 has any friends left because he’s always looking for a fight. Didn’t win that one with Kanye though
