Black Pastors Protest Planned Parenthood (Try Saying that 3 time fast…)

Black religious and Republican leaders are staging a revolt against Planned Parenthood, the one stop abortions shop. No it’s not just the normal Pro-life vs. Pro choice debate. These people are claiming that Planned Parenthood takes donations in the name of targeting black babies. Rumors, legend and theories have been swirling for years that the Founder of Planned Parenthood is a racist who created the organization with the purpose of thinning out the black population. Source

I have number of problems with this. First of all I’ve never been that much of a fan of Planned Parenthood. I think they tend to target the poor and the young with a brute force and often the message is more about abortion than prevention (this is just my experience). But then again why would you use the free condoms given out by and organization that makes money off of abortions?

All kidding aside, there are several problems going on. What do you think?
Racism is wrong and these allegations are startling, bUT….
I definitely think it’s time that the black church at large needs start addressing the problems before we worry about protesting. When I say the problems, I mean what factors would lead a woman, any woman to get an abortion? (and contrary to what many Conservatives think, it’s not just selfish. sluts passing up responsibilities) “Is this woman too poor to bring a baby into this world”, “is she single and the father isn’t willing to aid in the care of the child,” does she already have too many kids (this can happen to the married or unmarried) It’s time for the black church to focus on the prevention of the social ills that lead up to the abortion. It’s not just Pre-marital sex or deviant behavior that causes abortions.
