How are you “Kind of engaged?”

Is there a new invisble step between dating and engaged that the rest of us women folk have missed?? Kimora Lee Simmons tells People Magazine that she and sweetie, Djimon Honsou are “kind of” engaged.
So, are the two – who first met in February 2007 – engaged? “Kind of,” Simmons replied.
Asked if Honsou had given her an engagement ring, Simmons was equally forthcoming – and evasive. “Well, kind of,” she said, “not quite.”
No boo, either you are or you aren’t. If you don’t want to say just pull a “Beyonce” and decline to comment, but please don’t have men thinking there’s a new and acceptable way to delay making that final commiment of marriage. It’s bad enough that we have some couples engaged for three and four year, now there’s “kind of engaged”? No ma’am you should have just said “no comment”
