I’m not really an Ashanti fan at all, (she’s cute and has nice clothes though) but I have to talk about the controversey that’s springing up from “The Way That I Love You” music video and her website’s murder greeting cards. One group is so outraged that they are going to protest, the negative imagery of violence ( particulary two black people)
The video is basically about a woman (Ashanti) who finds out that the man she’s in love with is cheating on her. during the video she thinks about what would happen if she killed him.
here’s the video

The new name change from “Nigger” to “Nas” meant that Nas had to make a new cover to prove his point.

What do you think? what imagery does this convey to you? How was his original album title different from “N.W.A”??

Toni Braxton’s Vegas days are over. Toni was rushed to the hospital about two months ago for chest pains and her shows at Harrah’s have been halted ever since. Today it was announced that Toni will officially end the show so that she can focus on her health. Toni does have pericarditis and was the official spokeswoman for the American Heart Association. Please pray for Toni’s health and her family. Harrah’s has not issued a statement on Toni’s condition.

This isn’t brown sugar news but I though it was soo stupid that I just had to share it.
Dunkin Donuts pulled an ad of Rachael Ray because some conservatives didn’t like her scarf!!! What’s obviously a paisley print black and white scarf wrapped around her neck apparently looks like an islamic head covering to the others (namely someone named Michelle Malkin)
